BAS Print Issues
When trying to print from BAS (using the 'Reprint' function) concurrent requests complete normally but nothing prints. Local printing to the selected printer (i.e. screen prints, word documents, documents from acrobat) still work fine it's just the BAS printing using the reprint function that isn't working.
Solution
- The most common cause is that the AIX print que is down so the status of the printer's BAS print que needs to be checked. BAS printers including multifunction printers, digital copiers or digital printers have a bad habit of getting lost (dropped or going off line). When this happen the print que needs to be restarted. The help desk should be able to direct your ticket to an available infrastructure resource.
- If the problem occurs on a recently replaced or new BAS printer the problem may be related to printer setup - especially if the new printer has user id/password control for print usage logging/chargeback. Tech support staff as well the printer que specialist (Jeff) should be able to adjust the printer settings.
- Access the printer's web monitor by entering the printer info in your web browser.
- Login (xxxx have administrative login info/access)
- Click Configuration
- Click User Authentication Management
- For you probably will see "User Code" enabled on your machine. Look for the Printer Job Authentication setting and from the drop down menu select "Simple (All)"
